The Mount Vernon Avenue House

The Mount Vernon Avenue house was our eighth home remodel. We purchased it within a month of our seventh remodel, Crestview II.

The Mount Vernon Avenue house is a 1540 square foot, three bedroom, one and a half bathroom, four square located in Fredericktown, Ohio.

I have provided affiliate links all throughout this post so items pictured can easily be shopped at no additional cost to you. Just click on the highlighted words or images in order to be directed to the link.

We used Behr Ultra White Satin paint from Home Depot straight out of the can (no tint) all throughout the house.

********GIVEAWAY ALERT**********

I found these antique maps in the attic of the Mount Vernon Avenue house. Some of them were marked “1896”, and some “1891”. I decoupaged the maps onto 16×20″ canvas and painted/distressed the edges. The one in the picture below stayed hanging on the wall at the MVA house, but I made two more to giveaway!

These maps would be particularly special to people living in the Fredericktown/Mount Vernon, Ohio area.

In order to be entered in the giveaway, simply comment in the box below (on THIS blog post, NOT on Facebook, because I can’t see all of the comments on Facebook) this post with the words, “I want a map.”

Anyone can comment, and if you don’t want the map for yourself, try to think of someone that might be blessed by one of these, and give it to them. Two winners will be chosen within the week.

Thanks so much for following along!

*******UPDATE****** Robyn and Danya won the maps. Thanks to everyone who commented!

  1. I want a map. I love using old distressed items from the house in our remodels too. ā¤ My husband always ties to find a unique piece of distressed wood from the garage, stains it and adds coat hooks for a cute and personalized coat rack in the entry or mud room.

  2. Beautiful reno!! Thanks for posting the items you used, like the hanging lights etc…
*I would like a map! I would be gifting itšŸ˜‰

  3. I struggle to find the right words for what you do! It’s transforming, amazing, and inspiring. I watch you in action but then when you post the before and after, I just marvel at the vision you see and create. You are gifted by God and nothing makes your Momma happier than to see you use your gift to create these beautiful spaces for others to enjoy. You put your heart and soul into these homes while being a full time Mom of four. I am so proud of you. Can’t wait to see what’s next.

  4. I want a map! (Please ;)) I just love your work!! We have lived in Ohio previously – came close to living in Canton and got our rescue pup from Wooster! It’s like a little piece of ā€œour pastā€- thank you!!

  5. I want a map! ā¤

All the homes you’ve done are beautiful, but I think this is my favorite. You truly have a gift!

  6. I want a map. I just live not too far from this house and grew up in Fredericktown. Scarborough Hardware is a piece of our history.ā¤

  7. I want a map!

I love everything you are doing in these homes. I especially appreciate your effort to incorporate items from the home when you renovate.

  8. I’m just blown away Amazing Can’t wait to meet my new neighbor’s Looking over and seeing šŸŽƒ on front porch makes my heart happy

  9. I want this map! I need this map! Michael really enjoyed looking at the before and after of this home. Another job well done.

  10. I swear I’m hiring you when we finally settle in one spot and our forever home!! Your renovations are nothing short of amazing and so gorgeous!!!

  11. How do you decide when to paint the frames around the door white or leave them stained, same with beams on ceiling? We are remodeling and trying to decide that as well! Also, where can I find your paint colors for the homes? Truly transforming work! Great JOB!

    1. Hi. It’s all just personal preference and what “feels” right in the space. I always use Behr Satin Ultra Pure White, straight out of the can, no tint. Thank you!

  12. Could you share where you purchased your bathroom lights for the upstairs bathroom renovation? Thank you and just like everyone else said…your work is beautiful!
