The Gay Street House

The Gay Street House was our tenth home remodel. We purchased it in November of 2020. It is located in Mount Vernon, Ohio.

  1. These posts always give me so much inspiration. I’m pinning ALL the pictures!
    Are the countertops in the kitchen butcherblock from one of the big box stores, or did someone make them for you? They are exactly what I want in my kitchen. The color is perfect!

    1. Thank you! Our contractor built and installed the countertops and I stained and sealed them. I used a mixture of General Finishes “Prairie Wheat” gel stain and Minwax “Dark Walnut” stain. I did this same mixture on the countertops in our cabin renovation, and I love the results. It gives the countertops an aged feel.
